The Artist’s Haven is a country Cape on the coast of Maine, where salt air off the ocean meets the scent of the pine woods. It’s a women-only retreat for anyone who needs a little time away: to rest, to make something, or just to hear yourself think. I opened my doors in 2017, and ever since I’ve been graced with the most interesting women. Some come to paint, some to write, some to sleep late and walk the shore. My kettle is always on. If you’d like company, pull up a chair. I’ll have a story for you and a little something from the kitchen.

“Alexsondra goes BEYOND from being a superhost. She is attentive to your every need; after my long journey in arriving, she kindly invited me to a delicious home cooked meal. If I ever lacked necessities, such as mosquito spray or sunscreen, she ensured that I was taken care of. Not only is the residence SPARKLING clean, but such attentive care was given to its fine details. Her artistic hand permeates along the aesthetics of the room and home. The peaceful, loving ambiance, artistic feel, and serene nature evokes the artist within—what more could you ask for! "My stay at the Artist’s Haven was exactly what I needed. Alex curates a calm, beautiful, welcoming space. The loft space is lovely, with thoughtful touches like a yoga mat and cozy chairs, as well as a desk and a table to eat at. I enjoyed eating my breakfast and drinking tea while sitting on the bench facing the colorful garden. The soaking tub is incredible. Alex had excellent local recommendations and was excited about all the plans I shared. Pemaquid Beach should not be missed! I will treasure my time talking with Alex about everything under the sun. She is a kindred spirit and a hilarious storyteller. I feel rejuvenated and cared for!"

Who’s Putting On The Kettle?
I’m Alexsondra Tomasulo: artist, teacher, writer, and the woman behind The Artist’s Haven. Like a lot of Maine artists, I work out of a converted garage, and the door is usually open. Visitors are always welcome to stop by for a demonstration, a cup of tea, and a good long talk about what I’m making and why.
